Fighting out of San Diego, California, Doug Dufur is an up and coming Mixed Martial Artist who currently trains out of Throwdown Elite Training Center San Diego and American Sports University in San Bernardino. Doug began boxing at around 16 then upon watching a UFC DVD, realized he was in the wrong sport. At 18, he took up Jiu-Jitsu and a year later ventured into MMA. Currently, Doug has 3 professional MMA fights, a record of 2-1 and sports a blue belt in Brazillian Jiu-Jitsu. Crediting a powerful right hand to his arsenal, Doug has dropped every opponent with it, striving to be an exciting fighter and trying to give the audience a good show and an even better knockout. The passion to be an exciting fighter is evident in the fighters who Doug considers similar: Wanderlei Silva, Roger Huerta, and Sean Sherk. All fighters who push the pace continue to go forward and impose their will on their opponents. Currently, Doug is on an MMA scholarship to the American Sports University and also teaches MMA at a gym in San Bernardino. By 2009, Doug strives to be in the WEC, his eyes set on Urijah Faber. Eventually the UFC is his final goal. Let’s hope a featherweight division (155 lbs) is added to mix so we can see Doug in the Octagon.
